Peak Performance Incentive Program

What is the Peak Performance Program?

Ontario’s new Peak Performance Program provides financial incentives to commercial and institutional buildings for reducing their HVAC loads on peak electricity demand days to help alleviate the pressure on Ontario’s energy grid. When high-demand days are forecasted, participants will be notified in advance and can earn incentives based on those energy savings, on top of the savings they will get from reducing their electricity consumption. Enabling incentives are available for new facilities who qualify.

If your portfolio of properties curtails an average of 1.25 MW over the 2026 season, the incentive program could earn you approximately $94,000 (Up to $69,000 in seasonal incentives + $25,000 in enabling incentives (if qualified)).

To qualify for the program you must be able to deliver 500 kW of demand response from one or more non-residential facilities, such as:

  • A chain of big box stores

  • A hospital

  • University

  • A portfolio of buildings

  • Multiple warehouses

Participants have the option to opt-in or out on high-demand days, making the program flexible to fit your business needs.

How Gigawatt Can Get Your Building(s) Peak Performance Ready

One requirement to participate in the Peak Performance Program is to have a Building Automation System, like our BONDI BAS, which enables you to remotely control your buildings energy use and collect the data for when the peak season ends for reimbursement. Reach out to our team to see if the BONDI BAS is compatible with your portfolio of buildings.

Our AIO Heat Pumps can also help cut your energy costs through their innovative, best in class design. This product is great for retrofitting legacy heating and cooling systems that are not only costly to run but costly to maintain. The AIO units work perfectly with the BONDI BAS system to help you save money, as well as take advantage of amazing incentives.

Our products will help you reduce the impact on Ontario's electrical grid and earn money while minimizing your HVAC load. Integrating energy-efficient upgrades such as the BONDI BAS and AIO heat pumps, will keep you poised to take part in potential future incentive programs.

Reach out to our team today to find out if your buildings are compatible with the BONDI BAS and don’t forget to sign up for the program before May 30th. (* Applications are accepted after May 30, however, incentives will be prorated based on the start date.)
